Councillors representing outside bodies

 

Honiton Town Councillors can be representatives for outside bodies, in addition to their duties on Committees and Working Groups.

Councillor Representatives on Outside Bodies are expected to:

a. Take an interest in the Outside Body;

b. To “champion” the Outside Body for the Town Council;

c. To be the central point of Councillor contact with the Outside Body;

d. To acquire specialist knowledge of the area of Outside Body to the extent expected of a Town Councillor;

e. Along with Councillors with Special Responsibilities, to represent the Town Council externally regarding the Outside Body e.g on any groups, with individuals, on formal/informal consultations;

f. Act as point of contact for Officers on matters relating to the Outside Body;

g. To report back to Full Council or Committee/s (as appropriate) with regard to the Outside Body.
