On behalf of the people of Honiton it is with heartfelt regret that the Mayor and all members of Honiton Town Council extend their sincerest condolences to H.M. King Charles and his extended family on the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her devotion to her subjects and to her responsibilities as our Head of State, her wisdom, commitment and fortitude have been an example to us all and her passing will be regretted by peoples worldwide.
The Town Council has opened a Book of Condolences locally at its Offices at the Beehive, Dowell Street, Honiton, for residents of Honiton to express their own thoughts and memories. Also, an online Book of Condolences is available on the Royal website for those who wish to send a personal message of condolence. Please follow the link below:
People are asked to lay floral tributes at the War Memorial, St Paul’s Church, Honiton.
Cllr Serena Sexton the Mayor of Honiton will be writing to Buckingham Palace on behalf of Honiton to express the town’s condolences at this sad time.
Town Council meetings planned for next week will be postponed until further notice.
General Council matters are dealt with in the Town Council Offices.
