Press Release - Honiton Town Council appoints Midas Construction to build new Community Complex.

Midas Construction have been announced by Honiton Town Council as the contractor for the Beehive Community Complex to be built in Dowell Street Honiton. Midas were selected after a rigorous procurement process and will be moving onto the site at the end of the month with the work starting in earnest on the 4th March.
Town Mayor David Foster said, “It is fantastic that after all the years of talk and discussion we are at last about to turn dreams into reality. The Beehive will be a much needed facility for the whole community and for future generations".
Steering group chair Nick Cornwell, said, "We are very pleased that Midas has been selected. They are a West Country company with a good reputation and are a team we can work with. They have a good reputation of engaging with the local community during builds and also looking to support local employment”.
Ian Pitman, Director of Midas Construction said, “We are really looking forward to working with Honiton Town Council and the rest of the Team to deliver this extremely prestigious project which follows on from many other projects carried out in East Devon”.
Jeremy Mears, from Bailey Partnership Construction Consultants and lead consultant for the Project team said, “I am delighted that the project has reached construction stage and we will work closely with the town Council to provide a facility to serve the whole community of Honiton for years to come”.

During the period of the build buses and coaches have been allocated alternative parking at Heath Park. Local permit holders have also been contacted by the District Council regarding alternative parking arrangements.
Midas Construction recent projects in East Devon have included the John Lewis store in Exeter, Waitrose Store at Heavitree Exeter and the new Spinnakers development at Exmouth.
Bailey Partnership Construction Consultants in Exeter have been advising Honiton Town Council on the Community Centre project since Summer 2009. Bailey Partnership have been pleased to offer Project Management, Architectural, Quantity Surveying, CDM Co-ordination and Interior Design services for the scheme, supported by AJ Sands Ltd Structural and Civil Engineers and Services Design Solutions on Mechanical and Electrical design.
