Grants for 2015

A full list of organisations receiving grants (total £8,355.00) payable May 2015 is:

  • Headway £200 – to invest in new games and art supplies for the centre to help clients with brain injuries to improve their practical and social skills.
  • Honiton Tourist Information Centre £4,655 – to assist with wages and to maintain the opening hours of the office
  • Honiton 55+ Centre £3,500 – to enable the purchase of computer equipment, furniture, uniforms, telephones and for advertising to help set up this new club.


The Town Council has also given further support to the following organisations:

  • Honiton Tourist Information Centre - £5,000
  • Honiton Citizens Advice Bureau - £1,500
  • Hot Pennies Committee - £100
  • Chamber of Commerce (Christmas Lights) - £1,000
  • Honiton Charter Day Committee – funding up to £500

  • Honiton Antiques Festival: promoting the antiques festival week £500
  • Honiton Youth Orchestra: to subsidise each child’s music weekend exprerience fee: £120
  • Honiton Music Co: new sheet music: £125
  • Hospice Support Group Honiton & District: purchase of equipment for new day hospice & continued support of local nurses: £1000
  • Honiton Netball Club: fund 50% for 2 new level 2 coaches: £360
  • Friends of the Glen Revival Working Group: field trip to Yeovil Country Park for viewing of Victorian water garden and professional advice on restoration & cost of materclass workshop on fund raising for restoration of the Glen: £140
  • 1st Honiton Brownies: towards cost of a pack holiday during half term: £450
  • Reel Moments: public liability insurance: £258
  • The Community Church: to establish a ‘men with kids’ club for dads and their children/step childred: £300
  • East Devon CAB: to assist in funding the continuance of the advice service: £1500
  • Honiton Family Church: purchase new equipment for club aimed at 7-11 year olds: £750
  • Otter Rotters: to help with travelling expenses for a growing mentor support volunteers with a long history of mental health issues: £100
  • Honiton Senior Voice: towards funding for Honiton Dementia awareness day meeting at the Beehive Centre: £300
  • Hot Pennies Ceremony: top up provision of pennies to subsidise new venues: £100
  • Honiton Millennium Green Trust: to help with general running expenses of the green: £500
  • Honiton Tourist Information Centre to assist with wages and maintain opening hours: £5000
  • TRIP: to support the core ring & ride services – voluntary car and wheel accessible transport: £400
