Due to the recent resignation of some Honiton Town Councillors, there are currently two vacancies in St Paul's Ward and three vacancies in St Michael's Ward. These vacancies are in addition to the two existing Councillor vacancies (one each in St Paul's and St Michael's Ward) which have been notified previously. There are therefore in total, seven Councillor vacancies at the moment on Honiton Town Council.

Any ten electors for the electoral area may give notice requesting that an election be held to fill these latest vacancies and such notice must be in writing and given to the Returning Officer at East Devon District Council within fourteen days of the date of publication of the notice.

If an election is requested under current legislation a poll cannot take place until 6th May 2021 as a result of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commission (Coronavirus - Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the Coronavirus Act 2020.
