Allotments
Recent years have seen a big increase in the number of people wanting to grow their own produce and Honiton is no exception. The Town Council is working to satisfy demand for allotment plots and the proposed site at Honiton Bottom Road will go some way to provide land for the ever growing waiting list. East Devon District Council approved the planning application for this site in October 2010 and plans are now going ahead to develop the much needed allotments.
The first Annual General Meeting of the Honiton Allotment Association was well attended with volunteers filling the vacancies on the Association's Committee. Chairman of the Committee, Mr Paul Kiddle, can be contacted through the Town Council Office in New Street.
Honiton Town Council will be pleased to hear from anyone with spare land which may be suitable for allotments.
For further information, or to join the waiting list, please contact Sarah Jenkins, Deputy Town Clerk, Honiton Town Council, New Street, Honiton. Telephone 01404 42957 or by email to deputyclerk@honiton.gov.uk.
