Honiton Community Complex

The Town Council has resolved to build new community facilities for the town. This is the result of many years’ work and seeks to deliver a modern, purpose-built centre for arts, business and social events at the centre of the town.

Following a public meeting on 30 March 2010 a Town Poll was requested by the residents of Honiton to answer the question as to whether or not it is felt the Town Council should proceed with this project. The results of that poll were negative in that there was a very low turnout and only 10.37% of the voting population of Honiton voted (662 "No" votes 72% and 257 "Yes" votes 28%). As a result of this poll and current financial considerations East Devon District Council has withdrawn its offer of land at Lace Walk Car Park and the Town Council is currently considering optional sites in the town.
